A boundary survey is a survey used for locating and describing the boundary of a particular parcel of land. This involves research of records, and a field visit in order to locate existing boundary evidence. New monuments are set as needed, and the owner is provided with a map of the findings, and if needed, a new legal description.
Boundary surveys need to meet a set of state-determined minimum standards. In Ohio, these standards are defined by Chapter 4733-37 of the Administrative Code.
