A site plan or topographic survey is a survey used for locating the features, both natural and artificial, found in a specific area. This could include buildings, pavement, underground or surface utilities, fences, lakes and water courses, elevation data or contours.
Site plans can be used for a wide variety of applications, including engineering, development, landscaping, or planning. A site plan does not necessarily need to include boundary information, although that can be specified by the client, and a site plan can be combined with a boundary survey.
